As campanhas tradicionais com sonar multifeixe (MBES) oferecem grande exatid\u00e3o, mas requerem embarca\u00e7\u00f5es especializadas, pessoal experiente e or\u00e7amentos que nem sempre est\u00e3o ao alcance de pequenos projetos ou de inspe\u00e7\u00f5es frequentes. Um novo estudo publicado no <em>Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring<\/em> explora uma alternativa: suspender uma ecossonda monofeixe (SBES) sob um drone (UAV) para realizar levantamentos batim\u00e9tricos de forma \u00e1gil, port\u00e1til e sem necessidade de embarca\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">O trabalho, assinado por Bethsaide Souza-Santos, Marcos Arza-Garc\u00eda, Juan Ortiz-Sanz e Mariluz Gil-Docampo, foi desenvolvido no dique seco de San Juli\u00e1n, no Arsenal Militar de Ferrol, uma instala\u00e7\u00e3o que pode ser completamente esvaziada e cheia. Esta particularidade permitiu algo pouco habitual neste tipo de valida\u00e7\u00f5es: comparar diretamente as medi\u00e7\u00f5es do sonar com um modelo digital do fundo obtido por fotogrametria a\u00e9rea de alt\u00edssima resolu\u00e7\u00e3o (0,55 cm por p\u00edxel) quando o dique estava seco, eliminando assim as incertezas introduzidas pela \u00e1gua \u2014 turbidez, dispers\u00e3o ac\u00fastica e varia\u00e7\u00f5es na velocidade do som \u2014 noutras valida\u00e7\u00f5es de campo.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Com um conjunto de dados de mais de 16.000 pontos co-registados e profundidades de at\u00e9 8 metros, os resultados mostram uma diferen\u00e7a m\u00e9dia de apenas 0,15 m entre o sonar e a refer\u00eancia fotogram\u00e9trica, com um desvio-padr\u00e3o de 0,58 m. A partir destes res\u00edduos, a equipa calculou uma <strong>Altera\u00e7\u00e3o M\u00ednima Detet\u00e1vel com 95 % de confian\u00e7a (MDC\u2089\u2085)<\/strong> de aproximadamente 1,6 m para uma \u00fanica medi\u00e7\u00e3o e de apenas 0,5 m quando s\u00e3o realizadas m\u00e9dias de passagens repetidas sobre o mesmo ponto.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">O que significa isto na pr\u00e1tica? Que o sistema UAV-SBES funciona muito bem como <strong>ferramenta de triagem (Tier-1)<\/strong>: \u00e9 capaz de detetar altera\u00e7\u00f5es de escala m\u00e9trica a decim\u00e9trica \u2014 socav\u00f5es, deslocamentos de blocos, impactos de embarca\u00e7\u00f5es, assentamentos significativos \u2014 e de priorizar as zonas que merecem uma inspe\u00e7\u00e3o de maior precis\u00e3o. Em contrapartida, n\u00e3o substitui os sistemas multifeixe nem os sensores de contacto quando \u00e9 necess\u00e1rio detetar deforma\u00e7\u00f5es \u00e0 escala milim\u00e9trica.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">O estudo tamb\u00e9m identifica onde o m\u00e9todo apresenta maiores limita\u00e7\u00f5es: em paredes escalonadas, estruturas de madeira e outras superf\u00edcies verticais ou irregulares, onde a dispers\u00e3o e as reflex\u00f5es m\u00faltiplas do sinal ac\u00fastico degradam a qualidade da medi\u00e7\u00e3o.
